ADR – Mediation and Arbitration

Not every dispute belongs in court, whether because a contract requires mediation or arbitration, or because the parties realize on their own that mediation can be a more efficient, effective, or creative way to resolve a dispute.  But not everyone is cut out to be a mediator or arbitrator.

FMD attorney Brian Haara has been recognized every year since 2013 by The Best Lawyers in America for real estate litigation, including “Lawyer of the Year” in 2016 and 2020 for real estate litigation in Louisville.  Because of this strong reputation in the legal community, Brian provides mediation and arbitration services for residential real estate disputes arising under the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors contract and Kentucky courts have appointed him to serve as a neutral mediator in other real estate, business, and insurance disputes.

In his 38 years of practice, FMD attorney Scott Dickens has successfully litigated and mediated a wide range of disputes throughout the United States. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America each year since 2009 in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, and Products Liability Litigation. Although certification to conduct mediations in Kentucky is not required, Scott has completed a 40-hour in-person mediation training program conducted by the Indiana Continuing Education Forum and is certified as a Civil Mediator.
